K7+AL

not cited after 27.01.45 — given new markings?

T5+AH

T5+BH

140310

originally to KG 76, 09.11.44; marking changed from T5+EH; possibly destroyed 10.04.45 in bombing of Riem? There was a new T5+BH after 16.04.45 (see below).

T5+BH

140611

to strength 16.04.45, ferried on or after that date, probably shot down 25.04.45.

T5+CH

140_76

possibly 140176, since 140476 was 8H+DH of 1.(F)/33.

T5+DH

T5+HH

140315

10% damage 29.01.45 from enemy action; not on strength 14.03.45.

T5+IH

with Kdo. Sperling 03.02.45, possibly became 4U+IH?

T5+IH

140469

T5+JH

Flugbuch Nitschke 25.04.45. In contemporary German usage, this could have been the same as T5+IH . Conversely the unit had 10 aircraft at one stage and we know that A–I (i.e. nine consecutive letters) existed, so J may well have been the tenth.

T5+OH

Flown by Ofw. Jackstadt, Burg, 20.01.45, not clear if aircraft served with 1.(F)/100.

140612

crashed at Großenhain on delivery flight, 14.04.45.

APPENDIX FOUR

Ofw. Jackstadt

Jackstadt had flown the Me 410 with 2.(F)/122 in Italy throughout 1944 and his last operational flight with that Staffel had been from 12.45–14.46 (local time) on 13 December. This was in F6+VK with his usual Bordfunker, Uffz. Schütz.

According to Harald Rabeder’s »Die Knüllenkopfstaffel«, Jackstadt transferred a week later to 3.(F)/Nacht in Brieg (Brzeg, Poland). On 1 January 1945 that Staffel was renamed 1.(F)/123 and moved to Burg-bei-Magdeburg for conversion to the Ar 234. While there he logged five flights on the type between 20 January and 8 February.

NOTE: Rabeder uses the spelling “Jackstedt” whereas my handwritten source for the name (BA-MA RL10/419: Kriegstagebuch 2.(F)/122, 1. Januar 1944–5. April 1945) is consistent in using “Jackstadt”.
